Produce audioGuide or have it produced?

When planning an audioGuide, there is only one real difficulty: the production of the audiovisual content of your audioGuide. So how do you make it simple and effective?

With our tools, you can give other people access to your CityTourPlayer project by simply generating a link. This way, you do not have to produce your audio guide yourself, the people concerned can use your link to gain access and you can, for example, call on a media company in your region.

It is now up to you to choose your partners who have the skills and material to do this (mainly a stock of photos, the rights of which allow such use; note, however, that it is easy to quote the image credits on the panel of your audioGuide). Once you have found the right partner, plan a project with them.

At what cost? A key question in such a project. Don't hesitate to ask your partners for a quote, as your creation may include the following:

  • making a script
  • Shooting of images (+360° if desired) (+ comments on images)
  • Production of a voiceover in the desired languages
  • Subtitles in the desired languages

Please note that, for cost reasons, you can also produce your AudioGuide in one language only or without images. Finally, if you yourself have a team member who could work on it, and you already have multimedia content, don't hesitate to call on him/her.

Moreover, the quality of an audio guide is not always due to the professionalism involved, but often also to the motivation and the closeness of the project that the people making it have to discover their city. For example, offer the project to young people in your region, present it as an open competition. This will certainly reduce costs, but above all, it will really enhance the creators by offering them the opportunity to carry out a complete project by themselves.

Finally, if you know a company or a group which would be potentially motivated to produce such an audio guide, do not hesitate to propose the project to them, saying that you will support them by paying the CityTourPlayer license and by putting up posters in strategic places (bus stops, kiosks, tourist brochures, etc.)

CityTourPlayer also offers audio guide creation services. To learn more, please contact us: citytourplayer@nexswiss.ch

In any case, before finding a company to produce your audioGuide, or calling on us, do not hesitate to ask yourself what the theme of your audioGuide will be and if you are ready for the to-do list steps.

About Us

CityTourPlayer is a project from NexSwiss Sàrl, a company based in Switzerland.

The idea for this platform arose during a visit to London on bus 11. Indeed, this bus offered very beautiful views of the best places in the British city but did not provide any real-time information about these places. We came up with the idea of creating a platform that would allow public transport companies and cities around the world to produce customized audioguides on existing public transport networks. In this way, both small towns and large cities could offer tourists, as well as their locals, the opportunity to freely discover their landscape without using private buses routes and to take advantage of existing urban networks.
